Bringing electricity to 50 000 people in the next two years will require incredible planning and execution. In order for us to succeed, you will have to manage our agent network, provide ongoing training to employees, offer great technical support to customers and agents, and put out the many fires associated with operating in a developing country. The infrastructure in Zambia is a work in progress: Logistics and telecommunication challenges are plenty. We are still in the early days of mobile money adoption in Zambia and we need to successfully integrate mobile money into our payment process, so continuing to develop this network will be very important.
Your role as Regional Sales manager is to ensure your Agent Managers and Sales Agents have what they need to be successful. The success of the company hinges on how effective our agent network is and it will be your responsibility to make sure our agents are set up to win. We need two driven individuals to take this role in Eastern and Southern provinces.
Responsibilities
Supervise hiring and training of sales agents in your province;
Track agent & agent manager KPIs and follow-up accordingly;
Work closely with the Human Development Facilitator to invest in the team’s capacity;
Work closely with the leadership team to define the best strategies and fix issues as they emerge or before they occur.
What we are looking for
Proven leadership ability and interest in running/working in a start-up;
Outgoing and strong networking abilities;
Demonstrated ability at developing and managing external relations
Self-driven and able to work comfortably both alone and in small teams;
Experience building and managing a team
Experience working in developing countries, preferably in rural environments;
Experience working in the renewable energy or agricultural sectors highly desirable;
Minimum Bachelor’s degree
Communicate well in English - both written and verbal. Portuguese is a plus
Willing to live in Zambia (Chipata or Choma).
